Robert and Rose began their affair in 2005 after the Cannes Film Festival, not onthe set of Grindhouse as some people say.

WHICH sexy actress - known for dating a crazy rocker and a media man - is now in a full-fledged affair with a successful Latino director? Problem is: He's married and has no plans to leave his wife.

In 2005, while they were in the early stages of conducting their affair, Robert's wife of 14 years, Elizabeth Avellan, the brains behind his movie empire, was pregnant with their FIFTH child. When baby Rhiannon was born, Robert began spending more time in L.A staying over at Quentin Tarantino's house, and Quentin knew that Robert and Rose were conducting an affair and chose to ignore it. He has an office at Troublemaker Studios which is co-owned by Elizabeth Avellan, and maintains a friendship with her too.

Robert wrote the role of Cherry in Planet Terror (which he wrote in 2006 for the 2007 release) especially for Rose McGowan. (It was supposed to be released in Sep 06)

During the filming of Planet Terror in 2006, Elizabeth found out Robert and Rose had been having an affair and she ordered him to leave the family home. This is when Grindhouse shut down production for a month. The bigwigs blamed it on financing the project, when that has never been a problem for Robert who has worked well within and under his budget.

Elizabeth separated from Robert and filed for divorce, while he moved out and now spends most of his time as Rose's personal driver in L.A. Elizabeth stayed in Austin with the five children and runs the business, produces other movies and has basically come out of this ugly situation maintaining the admirable dignity she has held throughout.
