Sarah retaliates against a heckler by basically saying that her sons are in Iraq right now fighting for YOUR right to protest! LOLLLl and then her supporters roar in support like a damn lynch mob are people really that misinformed that they still REALLY think we are in Iraq to fight for freedom?? like really??????? |

Her son is fighting in another country so the protester can protest? I thought America had freedom long before that, well, thanks to Sarah, I just found out
that we did not have any freedom in the past until America started to invade another country for their oil!

I never said the reason they were there was "for us". I don't support the war and I don't think our troops should be in Iraq but they are
still serving our country, whether you agree with the war or not. I'd much rather have respect for the troops who are risking their lives to fight a BS war
and their families than idolize and obsess over models who have done nothing to serve anything except their own fucking vanity.

First of all, it's not a "militia", it's a military. Two different things. Secondly, if you think the troops enrolled so they could go to
Iraq for a war they didn't agree with, then you're ignorant. They enroll to serve the country. Serving the country doesn't mean fighting wars only
with good purpose or only fighting wars that everyone agrees with, it means serving whenever they are called upon and doing it whether they like it or not. If
you want to be mad about the war, be mad at George Bush, not the troops. When you're in the army, your job is to protect & serve and that's what
they do. They don't choose the wars that they fight, many don't agree with it but they do what they are told and that is their duty. If anything, if
you disagree with this war so much you should support and respect the troops even more because they're the ones stuck fighting it and dying. Do you think
all the troops are there because they agree with it or like why they're there? Maybe some, just like some people think there is more good reason to be
there than not..but many don't agree with it at all. Whether they do or not they are all there for one reason no matter what and that's because
it's their job and part of serving the country.
you think that we've sent troops to iraq to protect our country to protect our freedom and to ensure our right to protest??? No, we went there for oil. However, the very people who are fighting this war are the same people who would be the ones to protect and serve our country for those reasons if need be. If you don't like the "modern day military" because they don't do everything to your liking, then who the hell do you think is going to fight for America's freedom if our freedom was threatened? The same damn military. |

I thought the same thing when I saw this clip. I respect and appreciate the soldiers in Iraq, but I don't consider them fighting for our freedom. Our
freedom wasn't threatened by Iraq in the first place. I still consider anyone in the military as serving our country, but that doesn't mean they're
fighting for our rights. If anything, they're supposedly fighting to give more freedom to the Iraqis.

Sorry, OP sounds like a spoiled and ignorant little girl. Whether or not you support the war, you should support and respect our men and women that are over
there fighting it. They are serving our country because they are fulfilling their duties that they signed up for. They don't get to pick and choose what
causes they deem necessary.

Palin's reply is simply the most repeated repulicans rhetoric, its empty and confused. There is nothing in Iraq that remotely led to protecting Americans
or their freedom. In the contrary, this was distablized an entire region and procreated generation full of vengence towards America. Anti-America sentiment in
Middle East has reached a level not seen before, and with the current threats made to Iran things are getting to worse. I hope the American public realize the
real situation here, this was didnt and never will win the hearts and minds of Iraqis, and the current administration is causing greater risk to America by
their own doings.

and the WAR IN IRAQ is not about "protecting our country" If you bothered reading anything I wrote, you'd know I don't think that. Everything I said was defending the troops, because apparently you seem
to think that our troops aren't serving the country just because it's a war you don't agree with. It all started with you saying her son is not
serving the country, which he is, whether you are capable of realizing it or not.
