Does this article also blame people using credit cards as a faucet? or the greedy lenders? or the CEO's billions in profits?
I think many people did not understand the seriousness in adjustable rates. You may be able to pay $1199 mortgage but when it balloons up to $1899, thats when you can't pay. Let me give you another example. Lets just say your favorite donut shop is closing. You go to owner and ask why are you closing? The owner goes to you and "My landlord is greedy and going way up on the lease", so I have to close. Its almost the same thing these homeowners are going through. Yes some got in way over their heads, but the majority have jobs, work and when their mortgages ballooned they were hit sideways. |
