So, I finished the book earlier and decided to check out this thread. Everything came as a surprise to me because I never read any of the spoilers. However,
the only thing I'm really glad about is that E/B are married and Bella was changed. The baby shocked me, I feel like it was completely unnecessary,
downright stupid, and unrealistic in this storyline because SM has been adamant from day ONE that vampires can't have children. This book could have taken
on an entirely different path - one where they did the honeymoon thing, he changed her and SM described in Bella's POV what all of that was like. If she
was dying to do Jacob's POV, why not write about his agony over losing Bella, dealing with her being changed, and finding a good girl to imprint on (Leah,
or maybe even the girl from the park).
I was extremely excited for the movie - but after seeing Catherine's other works I'm wondering how good it's actually going to be. I hope with all my being it's not full of failure. I don't think they'd be able to stretch it into four movies, more like they could condense the last three into a second one and cut out all the bullshit in between. If Twilight makes enough money and has enough buzz surrounding it after all is said and done - I highly doubt even with all of that, that a second movie will do that well.
ETA: There's no doubt in my mind that SM will be making a book revolving around Jacob/Nessie. Probably with a little of Nessie being grown, showing what her life is like now - and Jacob finally having her old enough to inform her of his imprinting and all of that. But of course, the Amazon half-immortal will make an appearance and make her heart swoon because of his understandingness. Then, she'll be indecisive just like her mother.
