My friend moved into a new apartment this past December, and I had gotten her a very nice housewarming gift. But now, seven months later, she moved again into
a new place and she invited me over this weekend to come see it. Now, in your opinion, would that warrant an additional housewarming gift? Most of the people
who I've asked already said no, but I don't want to seem cheap/rude/whatever. But I also don't want to have to buy her a damn gift every 6 months
when she gets sick of her apartments.

I wouldn't, but if you feel obligated, just bring some flowers or something.

I agree, flowers would be appropriate.

Yeah, I would just bring flowers or a bottle wine. Nothing major.

IMO, you should by a gift for the FIRST time they move out and going from an apartment to a house.

Yeah. If it's been that short a time between moves I wouldn't take something huge, just something little to make the gesture

And now that I think of it, this is an apartment not a house or condo? My friends and I have never bought each other anything when we moved into/to and from
apartments. Only if someone BOUGHT something like a condo or house. If I bought someone something every single time they moved I would have to move in with one
of those people and have them take care of me, because I'd be broke as hell.

Yeah, it's just an apartment. I think the last gift suffices, because that was her first place after she moved away from home. Whatever, I'm not
bringing anything.

The way I figure is housewarming gifts are only neccessary if it's a first move (moving out of parents house/dorms, etc) or if it's a big move to like
the next step of their lives (getting married/moving to a house to raise chnildren). If it's just her moving from apartment to apartment then she already
has everything she needs. It's not like she's going to leave the toaster behind at the old place in hopes someone will get her a new one.
Flowers or a nice vase, something small and decorative. This has been a lesson in etiquette courtesy of my mother. |

Did she bring us anything? Was she the one with the chair?

I would be very touched to get flowers from a friend coming to see my new place, I think it's both a nice gesture and unexpected. I wouldn't go for a
plant because she may not be a plant person and might feel obligated to go through lengths to keep the thing alive if you were to ever ask how it was doing.
Flowers are lovely, considerate, and they only stay around for a short while. I'd totally go for flowers.
