I always have, because that's the way we ate it growing up and it's so much better that way to me. Some people I've met have never heard of it
though.

My mum does and she also salts her cucumber - but I can't eat either that way.

I met someone from Illinois on my last cruise and she told me about that and I tried it but OMG that was gross.

I've never heard of doing that, but I did read an article about putting unexpected toppings on food and it helps bring out the flavor. One example was
sugar on tomatoes...I tried it and it tasted good! I forget the other combinations.

I love salt on cucumbers! I thought that was normal!
I don't know if this was the site I saw before but it has some different combinations on it: http://listverse.com/bizarre/top-10-unusual-food-combinations/ |

Here in this part of the world, it's more common to eat feta cheese with watermelon [so good!], so I guess salt would work as well.
I've never tried it with salt, but I think I'll give it a go. I also salt my cucumbers, tomatoes, oranges and apples Mm! And did I hear someone mention here the other day raspberries and black pepper, or am I making this up?
