I like, vaguely know the bartenders. KNow them enough to where they bought oranges to slice up in drinks just for me.
Have you ever gone to a bar by yourself?

I'm feeling sad and sorry for myself and don't want to be alone.

If you know the bartenders, go for it. You'll have someone to talk to! Come here and get drunk and watch movies with me.

watch me as I fall wrote: I fail to see how going to bar without a gaggle of friends is pathetic. I have gone to bars by myself, particularly when I am traveling. Sure, if you're just going to get drunk and feel sorry for yourself, better to stay home. But, if you feel like going out, having a beer, and talking to some people, go. |

fold. I've made friends with two coworkers that arent from Minnesota and we've become close, but one of them has been living here longer than i have
and she's got a bunch of friends (not to mention, she's going to be leaving soon), and the other seems to have rich friends that fly in to town every
weekend.

Exactly! My BFF and I, were always together. And now he has a boyfriend. I have a married couple as friends, but they're typical marrieds, they're rarely go out. And I know like, one or two other girls here but one's flaky and doesn't call half the time, the other has kids. It's just hard. I'm used to a group of girls that were ALWAYS going out and ready to party. |

Sure. I love the food they have in this bar, so one day I *had* to go.

i have once or twice but i did not stay long and normally was watching a game on the big screen but i was in a safe and not far area from my college. Since
home i do not and right now i am debating. I just dont want something to happen and it is a long drive back home to any bar around here, so it is annoying.

I'd feel kinda conspicuous in a bar by myself!

I was really proud of myself when I ate at a restaurant that wasn't a deli/sandwich/counter type place, by myself. It'd take balls to go to a bar! Do
it and see what happens!

Yes I have and I find I've always enjoyed it. I've had interesting conversations with people or a bartender about places they have traveled, careers,
etc. I am not talking going to the sleaziest bar, but some nicer places. Who cares what people think of you and what you do. You should just try it and if you
don't enjoy it then just go out with friends from there on out.

No, I wouldn't feel comfortable being alone in a bar.
