girls gowns were white at my school but you could wear whatever you wanted under it. I think I wore a white mini and a baby pink top.

That's better than having to wear a gown

White? Ew.
Our gowns were black and the hoods were royal blue outside, white inside with red piping. Guys had to wear suits or kilt, girls had to wear white blouse and black skirt. (That was university, btw) |

For high school, we had to wear white dresses and white shoes. Mine were heeled slides that were covered with linen. They didn't look too bad.
They had a dress code for my college graduation, but no one really paid attention to it. I wore black, mid-calf heeled boots. (This was in December.) |

At least you can wear shoes. We had to wear white dresses and white Japanese style socks.

We got to wear black.
I actually told my mom I'm going to wear my black HS graduation gown for my masters degree ceremony in December. She told me that she wouldn't let me. |

That is not a good idea! The master's gown is different, it has sleeve extensions. |
