I just started taking birth control two weeks ago and I'm starting to have breakthrough bleeding/spotting. I know this is normal the first few months, but
how long does it usually last? I didn't see anything in the medical information that came with my medicine, so I thought maybe I'd try asking here.

For me, spotting only occured if I didn't take my pill on time.

The first pill I was put on wasn't strong enough for me so through 3-4 months of pills I was bleeding whenever my body felt like it, literally 2-3 weeks at
a time. I got put on a stronger one and it's been working like a charm. For your first cycle anything is possible. Just keep and eye on it and take your
pills religiously. If I take a pill even a half hour later than normal, I know my body is in for a weird cycle.

I spotted for a week in the first month and it never happened again after that.
