Do people still camp out to buy concert tickets? |

2002 was the last time I ever waited in line at a ticket outlet. I was the first and only person there (well, other than my sister and my friend) and I ended
up front row tickets.

With the internet I think that there's a lot less of that. Maybe at venues that don't sell through online outlets, like ticketmaster.

I did that back at the no strings attached concert, but i didn't camp out. I was there like 2 hours early and waited the place i went to got there tickets
15 mins before ticketmaster released theres so good seats about 5 rows up on side stage. I was like the 10th person to get tickets.

It's a big yes. :-(
Shoot people came out for everything. Example: new video game systems....big after holiday sales...etc. |

I wouldn't really say to buy tickets anymore, but moreso for the day of the concert when it's general admission and they want to be front row...

I spent 18 hours at times for Justin Timberlake's club tours and for his futuresex tour. But I was always front row! wating is a pain and can get annoying
but it makes the price you pay so worth it.

With TM now... it's almost not worth it, imo.
The last thing I camped out for was Justified/Stripped tickets... I was about 8 people back in the line and got AWFUL seats and then ended up paying out the wazoo for better ones. I stick to online, it's just so much easier. |

It think I'm going to start doing it again just for the big arena type shows, cause with tm, they add on too many fees.

The last time I camped out was for New Kids tickets in 90'! I still didn't get very good seats.

I've never camped out but once for the 2nd leg of NSYNC's NSA tour I got there a few hours before tickets went on sale and the ended up making it a
lottery and ended up like 20th in line and by the time I got to the counter all there was were nosebleed seats so I didn't get anything.
I haven't gotten in line for tickets since then since TM.com started becoming another option. I prefer just going online you'll still may pull up crappy seats but at least you can toss them aside and try again until you find something you like. With the lines you have to take what they give you or nothing at all if people are waiting behind you. |

My only problem with TM.com, is that internet can go crazy sometimes... Like I would have good tickets, but by the time I get all my information it, something
might go wrong or there is an error when I push submit or my internet freezes or something. I would much rather buy them in person [maybe I wouldnt stand in
line or camp out...] but there is like no where to buy actual tickets in person around here... Or its while I'm at school or something weird like that.

watchoutforthecar wrote: That's true about errors and anything can happen. I haven't had to many problems buying online. Though I hate they can now block you if you search to much. But I just have a bunch of browsers open to avoid that plus it comes in handy because I can pull up like 5 different sets of tickets at once! |
