Former Insiders Claim Lou Pearlman Made Advances On Proteges (CBS) The Backstreet Boys, 'NSync and other bands in music mogul Lou Pearlman's empire enjoyed huge worldwide success in the 1990s. Now, a new report says that behind the scenes several of the young, male singers had to put up with their boss' sexual advances, Vanity Fair reports. "None of these kids will ever admit anything happened," one attorney who has sued Pearlman in a contract dispute tells special correspondent Bryan Burrough. "They're all too ashamed, and if the truth came out it would ruin their careers." The article details Pearlman's rise to power through his aviation and music ventures followed by his crushing downfall amid lawsuits from former band members and fraud charges that have landed him in a Florida jail. Insiders tell stories of Pearlman showing pornographic films to his young talent, greeting guests at the door wearing only a towel, and inappropriate touching including massages to balance one young man's "aura." While some deny anything improper ever happened, Burrough talks with former Pearlman proteges and their parents. One former assistant, who wanted desperately to be in one of Pearlman's bands, says that many involved knew of Pearlman's alleged predilections. "I would absolutely say the guy was a sexual predator," Pearlman's former assistant Steve Mooney says. "All the talent knew what Lou's game was. If they say no, they're lying to you." More than a dozen insiders tell Burrough they heard stories of Pearlman's behavior while insisting they experienced nothing untoward themselves. "I tried to protect the kids," says a former publicist, Jay Marose. "You'd see Lou kind of moving in on one of them, and you'd just tell someone, 'Get that kid away from Lou before it's too late.' " The November issue of Vanity Fair hits newsstands in New York and Los Angeles on Oct. 3 and nationally on Oct. 9. |

Just goes to show the power of money. If everyone knew (and I mean how could they not when 12 yr old FANS could see how grimy he was) why would they allow him
to continue to do so? Talk about fucked up. And like someone said, if Nick Carter's mom and ENTIRE FUCKING FAMILY knew something happened to Nick, what
kind of sick person lets Lou go near their kids again?? COME ON! I seriously do not blame the Carters for their dysfunction now. Who could blame them?
And Im now starting to worry about JC.... Thank GOD for Mama Lynn watching the youngest and the fact that Chris wasnt the cutest and that Joey would probably kill the man before doing anything with him, but JC, alone, with that perv?

I'm getting sick thinking about it. What a bastard. I feel so bad for Nick, what kind of mother would allow that to go on, and then basically serve him
another son. I really hope that nothing went on with JC, that would be heartbreaking.

Oh my god. Lou is fucking gross. What was the deal with Lance's mom, though? She was there for a little bit, but not the whole time... I'm assuming Lynn was in charge of watching Lance too when he was still underage. Joey would just laugh in Lou's face if he was ever approached, and Chris already said that Lou never did anything to him. It's JC I'm worried about.

I'm not sure even what to say to this. The thought's crossed my mind before but I always brushed it away, just figuring he was a money grubbing ass,
not a pedophile. I just hope nothing really traumatizing happened to anybody, especially the *NSYNC guys.
