I took the 4 classes.The foot work is intense. The first & third class was taught by Nick. We learned combos to "Rock With You" by Michael Jackson and then some Musiq Soul Child song. Marty taught "The Way I Are" and I believe the other combo was by Musiq as well. There were a lot of people, so it was kind of hard to see what they were teaching. I only did well when I was near the front. Once they had us rotate to the back, I had no clue what I was doing since all I could see were the people in front of me, and they were confused to what things were suppose to look like. Marty and Nick are awesome. Great teachers. I wish I could get some private lessons with them someday. I'm super sore. I didn't get home till around 1am-ish last night, then woke up and had jazz class in the morning! I haven't been this sore in a while. I was talking to Nick before and after class and he said the other two guys couldn't make it and how he got to go home and chill yesterday. He said he's been at his apartment for a total of 2 weeks since November 06. Poor guy! I've gained even more respect for touring dancers and Justin after taking this class. Learning 4 combos in 4 hours takes a toll on your brain too! I just want some sleep! They said they might come back around Sept 24th for another workshop in San Jose. |

That's awesome that you took all four. I know you MUST be exhausted.
Are you a dance major? What area are you from up here?
Did Nick teach this routine to "Just Friends"? Or was the slower tempo song? I'm trying to find it on youtube right now...

Yeah! That's the one he taught! For me, that was the hardest dance of the night. I just couldn't get the end part. I recorded Nick, Marty and Patrick
doing it. I don't know how to upload videos, though! I'm extremely exhausted! I also have another hiphop class tonight too haha
I'm not a dance marjor, but I want to get back into that whole seen. I used to be a gymnast for 13 years, and we had dance instructors come in a couple times a week to our practices, and my gymnastics coach used to be a professional swing dancer and did other forms of dance as well. Our gymnastics team would to halftime shows for San Jose State and Stanford sporting events. Once I quit gymnastics(because of elbow injuries) I wanted to pursue dance. My parents wouldnt let me. They said I had to choose either soccer or swimming (i was forced to continue playing sports). I chose soccer and lost all my artistic ability. My senior year in high school they finally let me cheer. (but for some reason they wouldnt let me dance. probably because the cheer team i was on involved a lot of tumbling ability so they thought it was closer to gymnastics) So 6 years later I started dancing again. My legs arent like how they used to be. My ankles are weak, and I can't tell left from right haha. The muscle memory thing isn't working for me too well right now, however, I'm driven to get like how I used to be and better. The class was a real kick in the ass to get me started. I'm glad I took it and can't wait for the next one! |

Thanks so much! When I watched Dance Life, I would be like "I used to be able to do that!" Everytime I leap I pull a muscle in my thigh, if I'm
up on my toes my ankles or knees buckle. Last night during the 3rd dance (which was the video you just posted of Nick) In the middle of it, my back hurt so
bad. My entire spine wouldn't allow me to move anymore. I felt paralyzed. i wanted to cry because of the pain. Right before the 4th dance when I was
sitting watching the guys do it, I rolled back onto my spine, heard a loud pop and was good to go. It was weird. So yeah, I definitly understand your whole
injury situation. If you start off slow, you'll be fine. I just started working out at the gym as well. I hadn't work out consistently in over a year.
I started trying to go to the gym more often this past spring. I would get really dizzy. One day I fainted at the gym. It freaked me out so I didnt go for a
while. When I went back again, I got dizzy again so stopped. i got a trainer and started to get into the groove of it again. im not overweight, (i just wanted
to tone down about 10 pounds) i didnt think i was that out of shape to get so sick after working out. it was weird. i got a couple blood tests done to see what
was wrong with me. every test turned out fine. I got a fitness trainer. i'm doing a lot better now. From being an athlete to getting so out of the loop of
things was really hard for me to deal with. Kind of depressing because I was able to do everything with ease before. Sign up to one beginning class a day and
work your way up. Dance is so much fun!

See that's the thing. I really want to be able to do this myself but with my knee problem (patellofemoral pain syndrome), it's freakin'
difficult as hell. Basically, I'm not supposed to do any weight bearing exercise, which means, anything standing upright. But when I get some money rollin' in through here and get myself back into decent shape, I think I might give dance a try again. |

honestly don't get how marty's justin's choreographer. he's not even all that great! watch the vmas, hbo concert, even some of his classes...
he's just there & doesn't pop out to me.  i think the other 4 [kenny included] excite me more, especially eddie. he's just shiesty!

This is really random, but was anyone else really annoyed by Nancy's gum chewing during Summer Love in the HBO concert? I'm watching it now

I think chewing cud is not cute on anyone.
But I think she was chewing it because she sucks on Justin's sweaty finger. Not that that's a bad
thing, but he touches the mic and other stuff, so he could have more than Juju cooties on it.

Who did Kenny fill in for in some of the shows? I saw him at the Fresno show and was so excited. And which workshops does he teach!??!?! I wanna go!!! He's AMAZING. He should have been permanetly on tour with Justin. |

He fills in for Marty when Marty is busy.
If you have myspace, you can probably see what he's up there on there. I think he lives in Chicago? Or Boston? Somewhere over there. |

That's a long ass time. 
And of course then all four of them will
probably be there. 
So...it's like, what does that leave me? 
I really want a trainer
but I don't have the money right now so it has to wait. And I haven't worked out consistently in over a year either. While I was still in college, I
would take aerobics and stuff and would be okay for the first couple of months, but once the pain settled in chronically, I had to stop. It sucks.
