Summary: Alittle more than a year after leaving Chicago, things are picture perfect for Justin Timberlake and Aleena Robertson. They celebrated the birth of their baby, the opening of Aleena's own salon, and Justin's got big dreams of a business of his own. But no one ever said marriage and parenthood was easy. So what happens when differing ideas begin to cause a wedge between the two? What will Justin do when old Chicago demons begin calling his name?
I wobbled back and forth from the kitchen to the couch, carrying a tote of beer underneath one arm and balancing two pizza boxes on the other hand. I turned to the side to sit them down on the table. I couldn't just bend over and sit them down, I had to bend back and over to the side to get them on the table. Justin reached out from the couch and placed his hand on the small of my back to balance me while he chugged down the beer in his other hand. I couldn't believe that both of my mothers, Justin's mom and my own, left me to fend for myself with two grown men. Justin and Ray were hollering at a bunch of guys running back and forth across the court, chasing a round leather ball of air while I walked back and forth, miserable from the pain I was in. Finally, after three trips, I carefully lowered myself to the couch and sighed as I rested my heavy head against the arm of the couch and placed my tired feet in Justin's lap.
"Aw Come on!!" He jumped slightly from his seat.
I didn't get the concept of hollering at the TV like those on the other side of the camera could really hear them. I just sighed to myself and picked up the baby book from the sidetable, opening it to the spot that I had marked. I was pregnant, nine months to be exact, with Justin's baby. I didn't know the sex of it because I wanted it to be a surprise after all that pain that I knew that I would have to endure during the labor. The pregnancy itself was a roller coaster of emotions, mood swings, midnight cravings, back pains, swollen fingers and feet, irregular bladder, and the list goes on. Justin tried his best to keep me happy, comfortable, and relaxed bless his heart, but I knew that I didn't try to make it any easier for him sometimes because at times I just felt that he couldn't do anything right.
The first trimester of my pregnancy was basically after Justin and I left Chicago. Justin and I were so excited and thrilled that we were having a baby together, and now that we were married it made everything even better. Now we were settled down in Virginia, which is absolutely different from Chicago but in a good way. But after we had gotten settled in, that's when the pains started to kick in. I remember one time that we were lying in bed together and Justin wanted to have sex, but I wasn't in the mood because my breasts were swollen and sore. As soon as he rested out to touch them, my instant reflex kicked in and I slapped him. As you can see that was the start of my mood wings.
"What the hell you hit me for?" He groaned, rolling away from me.
I sat up alittle and leaned against the headboard, flipping through the channels of the television. I rolled my eyes at him and laughed a little.
"I told you that I wasn't in the mood for all that. My breasts are tender."
Kicking back the covers he stood up from the bed.
"Man, I can't be around you if you are going to act like this through your whole pregnancy phase."
I cocked my head to the side and raised my eyebrow.
"Are you serious? Did you just say 'my' pregnancy phase? If I do recall it takes two to tango, or excuse me did I this myself?"
"I didn't mean it like that." His face dropped as he crawled onto the bed in front of me.
I just rolled my eyes, turning my head and trying to look over him to the TV.
"Baby."
He whinned into the side of my neck as he began to nibble on my skin. I didn't respond verbally, but my body was saying something else. His hands began to run up the sides of my thighs and he began to lower himself on top of me slowly. When his upper body landed on top of my chest I groaned in pain and pushed him off of me.
"Jay, stop. Stop!"
He jerked up, looking at me with a bewildered expression on his face.
"Damn, Leena come on!"
"They hurt! And It's your fault. You shouldn't have gotten me pregnant."
After that Justin was careful when he was in the mood to play. The first couple of weeks of pregnancy I was constantly either in bed or with my face in the toilet while Justin held my hair. I didn't eat much in my first couple of weeks, but once my sickness simmered down a bit my eating habits picked up like there was no tomorrow. I didn't too much have the weird cravings, but I did eat things that I never really cared too much for, along with the sweets.
Then came my second trimester, and that is when I started to gain weight and things on my body started to swell up. Justin especially liked that I gained weight.
I was standing over the kitchen sink washing dishes when the front door opened to our apartment. I could hear Justin coming in from work, dropping his bag down by the door and pulling off his shoes to set them outside and keep from tracking in dirt.
"Hey baby where are you at?" He called out.
"In the kitchen," I pushed a couple of strands of hair out of my face.
As I began to rinse the dishes clean I felt his strong arms wrap around my waist. His hand rested on my stomach, which was bulging out a bit as he kissed the side of my neck.
"Mmm, I missed you two." He whispered rubbing my belly for a few seconds.
Then he stepped back, walking over to the fridge. I turned to him and kissed his cheek softly.
"How was work?" I asked.
He shrugged and pulled open the fridge, turning over to look over my stomach and body as well. He stopped for a second as he held the fridge door open and his mouth dropped.
"Damn!"
I jumped slightly and jerked my head in his direction.
"What?!"
"Your ass."
"What about it?" I tried to look over my shoulder at it, but of course that didn't work.
"Baby your ass is big, damn!"
"Big? It's big? Or fat?"
"You got a fat ass, baby."
"WHAT!?" I frowned up my face.
He laughed, shaking his head and putting up his hands in defense.
"No baby, I didn't mean it like that. I mean yeah, I did mean it like that, but I didn't mean what you thought I meant."
I folded my arms twisting my body towards him.
"Then what did you mean, Jay?"
"I meant you got a phat ass. P.H.A.T. I'm talking your ass has gotten thick! It's like damn, apple bottom all the way baby!"
He licked his lips and came over to me, slapping my ass hard.
"Justin!" I groaned at the sharp pain.
"I'm just saying baby, you got a phat ass."
It was a perk for Justin to enjoy during my pregnancy. My final trimester, the third one, was the most difficult one for me because my lack of mobility. I couldn't move much, which is what led to my now sitting on the couch with my back in pain and feet swollen while Justin and Ray had the time of their lives being able to jump up and down and holler whenever they wanted. It wasn't like I did it when I wasn't pregnant, but it's just something you wish you could do because you can't.
"Come on, damn! Get the damn ball. What is so hard about that?!" Ray screamed throwing a piece of bread at the TV.
I wasn't planning on getting that. When I caught Ray's eye he rolled his, reaching down to grab it and place it back on his plate. Ray hadn't been that much of a pain since I was pregnant. He had been helpful, surprisingly, with helping Justin clean up the house for me and helping Justin do things for me. So, I guess you could say that Ray wasn't that bad of a friend after all.
Erika had come to visit a couple of weeks before and she was due back after I had the baby, along with Darrell. Things between them had been going well she decide that she was done searching for the right man because Darrell was good enough for her, but she still hadn't come to the fact that he was really the right man for her. She is in a little bit of denial.
Ray and Tanya had been getting along well so far. They were still going strong, but Tanya has yet to kick Ray of some unhealthy habits that she wanted him to get rid of like Justin did. But the only reason Justin did was because we were having a child and it was forcing him to make even wiser decisions. I didn't put it pass Justin that he smoked a blunt every now and then when he was sitting in the parking lot of the apartment, or in the middle of the night while I was lying in the bed sleep and he stepped outside. I knew it was some what of a hard habit to kick, but I didn't mind for the moment as long as I didn't smell it.
The front door swung open to the laughter of two women as they leaned on each other for support. Our parents acted like two high school girls that haven't seen each other in a long time. Since Justin and I married our mothers have become rather close and the best of friends for the most part. I suppose since Justin and I were living far away that they had no choice, but to keep in contact. And from what I heard they were out both painting the town red with mischief.
Justin and I both turned, raising our eyebrows at them.
"Where have you two been?" Justin asked.
I looked down at my watch to see that they had been gone for three hours.
"We got lost child!" My mom said as they both cracked up laughing.
"Why didn't you call Mom?" I spoke.
They both shook their heads and continued to laugh hysterically.
"Because we both left our glasses here and couldn't see anything."
"Mom! You left your glasses?"
"Yes, Justin did, but we made it safe so it's okay," Lynn laughed along with my Mom as they made their way into the kitchen.
Ray, Justin, and I all looked at each other and shook our heads, then went back to do what we were doing. Justin began to massage my feet and ankles as I read over the book all about labor. I sat with them eating pizza and sipping on some lemonade only to have to get up soon after to use the rest room. I wobbled to the bathroom using it quickly and washing my hands, then headed into the kitchen where my Mom and Lynn were still giggling. As I stepped onto the title floor of the kitchen I got a pain in my lower back and felt a wetness between my legs. I groaned thinking it was my bladder and I'd peed on myself, which I had done once before during my pregnancy.
"Dammit, I just went to use the bathroom."
Lynn and Mom just stood there looking at me smiling. I looked at them cocking one eyebrow.
"What? You never seen anyone pee on themselves before?"
My mom laughed, shaking her head.
"No baby, I think your water just broke."
I paused with my mouth open.
"What?"
"Your water broke Leena. It's time to go."
My heart began to race. The time was finally here. It was time to have the baby. I had to get to the hospital. I turned around and wobbled out towards the living room where Justin and Ray were on the edge of their seats, starting to stand up and inch towards the TV.
"Oh, oh, oh!" They both said in unison.
"Justin," I called out.
"Oh get it! GET THE BALL!"
"Jay!" I called a bit louder walking over to the side of the TV.
"There he go! There he goes man! LAY UP!"
"JUSTIN!!!"
"SCORE! " Justin and Ray screamed with their hands up.
"MY WATER BROKE!!!" The room went silent after, except for the hum of the TV. Justin stood there, gawking at me as his beer dropped to the floor.
