You shut your mouth if you are talking about Mike Rowe. Mike Rowe is a national treasure. I don't know how you can't like Mike Rowe!

Also, he understands that there is more to intelligence than just book smarts. He went in front of congress and talked about his dad and others like his dad who never went to college and were blue collar workers but were intelligent in matters of practical skills and that people these days are so worried about being "book smart" that nobody knows how do anything for themselves anymore. (i.e. fix things around the house, change a tire, make things, etc). He was asking congress to create a council that helped kids receive vocational training and apprenticeships and trades programs and such. It was really interesting to hear his point of view and it's so true. My dad is a farmer and grew up on a farm and that's been his whole life. He never went to college or anything but he is one of the smartest people I know. He knows how to fix anything and I think a lot of people overlook that type of intelligence. They think if you didn't go to college you are stupid or a slacker. A lot of people don't understand a path that's different than their own.

I just gained so much respect for him when I saw the video of him speaking to Congress. He's just an awesome human being!
