Posts: 11356 06/01/2012 5:30 PM Dean Winchester is my soul mate!	and charged things. Backstory, I went to Subway today and my card was declined. I figured that was weird considering I just got paid yesterday and I did check my balance by text and I had a lot of money in there. So I went to check my recent purchases and I had charges from a Walgreens in Milwaukee! I live in Maryland... Then I checked more and there had been one made for 75 cents. Weird, but I guess they started small and wanted to see if it would work. Well thankfully the bank froze my card and only $35 was used in all. I went to the bank and got a new account number and card coming. I was freaking out so much. I talked to some people at work and they said this had happened before to them. Has this ever happened to anyone? How do people get these things? Ugh.

Posts: 13227 06/01/2012 5:35 PM a sea of emotions	Yup they do start small. I once had a charge at some nail place for $2. I had to call BOA & have them flag the charge & cancel my card. I ended up getting a new bank account too just to be on the safe side. I do not know how they got my number.

Posts: 31766 06/01/2012 5:38 PM I carried a watermelon?!	This happened to my Dad once. We found out that his card was "double swiped" at a local gas station. It's some kind of device that they attach to their debit machines. They swipe it once, tell you it didn't work and then swipe again and it takes your pin that you put in. The people who did it to my Dad withdrew his maximum daily amount ($2000) at 11:58pm at a Casino in Montreal (we close to Toronto) and then once it hit midnight, withdrew the daily limit again. Since then he's limited his daily amount to $500

Posts: 11356 06/01/2012 6:13 PM Dean Winchester is my soul mate!	This is crazy. I just checked though and my old card is invalid. I have a new one, and I just have to wait for it to arrive. I will be checking this every single day that is for sure. I do check it frequently already though.

Some one in some midwest state change $4 to my card and BOA called me and said it looked suspicious so they canceled my account and sent me a new card. It was crazy. I'm glad they called me, because it probably would've taken me a while to catch on.

They are going to refund my money too. I'm trying to figure out when this could have happened. The only place that I have been lately that isn't around here is to Six Flags. I did use my card in the drink machine. I bought some stuff online from Amazon lately too. Other than that, idk. I guess it can happen anyway.

I live about an hour from LA I was shocked because I still had my card. I guess someone got the card number at a gas station I visited or something?

I had my card and it happened half-way across the country. It didn't even bother me, really. It was easily taken care of.

Posts: 2511 06/02/2012 3:51 AM	this happened to me just a week ago, but the person charged $200 to jetblue airways. i wish they'd started small! it totally sucks and i feel violated and pissed at the inconvenience. i filed a police report but they pretty much told me these things rarely get investigated (though in my name i had names to provide, so hopefully.....)
