The last straw was the music starting at 5 am on a Thursday morning along with WOOOOs from multiple people like there as a party going on. You bet your ass I called the cops. I'm not going to a stranger's place where a crazy person might live. And hey, I haven't heard his music since.

I'm a super nice person so I would never want to do something that would disturb anyone. So I would have gladly turned it off if they knocked on the door and asked us. I just think it is cowardly that they had to call a police instead of knocking on our door and telling us in person.

Well, your actions keep contradicting that. You said yourself you've played the music loud before, so it doesn't really look like you care if you do disturb anyone. When/if you buy a house in the middle of the woods someday, then play your music at the top of the dial, 24/7. But while you still live in an area with other people in close proximity, just play your music at a level that only you can hear. Have some consideration for other people, ya know?

I would REALLY hope they would talk to me first since we see each other and say hi every day. Or, at least leave a letter. I can see why a complete stranger might call the police instead, but if it was obviously not some crazy party I probably would have tried to handle it some other way. That feels more neighborly especially since I understand that sometimes it is hard to know if something is too loud. That is probably just me projecting since I really can't tell if something is too loud sometimes

It was just me and my mom at home with the stereo on at 10pm on a Friday. I would understand if you call a police if it's some loud party at 3am in the morning. But it wasn't which is why I'm reacting this frustrated about the situation.
