Did you do an airbrush (where it sets itself and you don't rub it in) or Mystic Tan, where you do rub? I've only done the former and I'm also very pale and yes, it doesn't look all that dark. You can go back in for a second coat but you need to be careful because it can start looking unrealistic with a second coat.

You could also get some bronzer to add as a way of darkening it up.

Just be careful not to soak in water, get sweaty or do anything that could ruin the tan before its time. They usually last close to a week with daily moisturizing.
