I disagree. It's a recurring point that the show often makes - Stefan will bow to Elena's choices even to the point of allowing her to do something dangerous/trust people like Elijah/sacrifice herself (like in the S2 finale) whereas Damon won't even if she hates him for it. Of course if Stefan knew about the vampire blood that would also put a new spin on it - much easier to allow her to make that call if you know she'll come back.

exactly. why do you think damon had to force feed elena his blood in 220? he wanted to make sure she'd come back. in 218 he said 'i'll be the one to keep her alive, even if she hits me and hates me for it' or something, whereas stefan just lets her do whatever. its kind of like damon is the overprotective, overbearing parent who thinks everyone's incompetent but him. stefan is the more chill, relaxed one who lets anyone do whatever as long as they don't hate him. which is fine. if elena's your kid. but she's not. stefan's got it right-she's an adult and should make her own decisions, even if they are bad. damon's more controlling.
