I don't know why, but something about Ivy reminds me of Jessica Simpson.

I'm still trying to figure out where I stand with this, but I've decided on something I don't like - the random singing isn't doing it for me. I don't mind the numbers for the show, but McPhee serenading herself in the mirror? Blah.

I'm sort of a theater nerd so I appreciate the drama of the show...but the performances are getting in the way! smiley: laugh

I hate characters that are 100% good, and Karen is boring. She's always shy and questions everything. Bitch sing when you're told to! It also really, really bothered me that she showed up at the first audition not dressed as Marilyn Monroe and didn't even bother singing a Marilyn song. She wasn't prepared at all.

I really love the show!

But... the Michael/Julia relationship is just really repulsive to me. I almost don't even want to watch the show because of it, so I catch a stream later and skip through their parts mostly. Do they want us to hate both of their characters? Mission accomplished, writers; I hate them both!

I think my favorite parts of the whole show are 95% Derrick and 5% Tom's cute lawyer boyfriend who clearly is going to get dumped sometime soon, etc.

I like the show but I find myself wishing more and more that it was just centered around McPhee's character and following her around New York and the trials and tribulations she has to endure while she fights for her big break. Ivy is a bitch, her relationship with the director is predictable. Julia is kind of really unlikeable as are a lot of the characters. Just more Karen please!

I don't know why the writers think we want to see two people whom spouses and children we've met cheat. It just makes me hate them. If you're going to show a cheating spouse then you need to make the other person horrible or at the very least not show their infants.

WORD. I still want to like Julia, but it's really, really hard to do so. And Ivy? WTF. You can be replaced. Even if the show was ON Broadway, you could be replaced. No reason for a diva momeny.

I love this show, but the whole "We're going to Boston to keep Mommy from sleeping with someone else" arc is the stupidest thing ever. I love Julia, but WTF are you serious? Do you job and keep your panties on, it can't be that hard.

Dev sleeping with Ivy is a little scandalous too. I feel like he should recognize the name. I don't think he did, but I think SHE knows exactly who Dev is.

I took it the other way around. lol. He looked a little like, "uh oh" when she said her name. I thought he sighed But then, that could be because of what he's going through because he's down. But it did kind of seem like she had at least an inkling of who he was. Either way, I was sitting there going, You've met each other! Hello! lol.

And he might as well just be with that other chick anyway. Him proposing didn't make any sense to me. He and Kat don't go together at all.

I'm glad Karen got the part. And I'm so glad that Ellis admitted he's evil and crazy. Finally!

I'm not sure if Ivy told Karen about Dev to be spiteful or not but her timing was spiteful, anyway. And Ivy with the pills? Uuuugh. She's so dramatic. smiley: eyes

I'm so pissed that Karen got the part. She is so wrong for it. She doesn't look anything like Marilyn, she's a string bean. And she sounds nothing like her. She's just so not Marilyn. Ivy was PERFECT. Stupid Derek.
The last song of the show made me cry buckets.

I hope Ivy is ok! I guess we'll have to wait until mid-season to see what happens.

I love Karen as Marilyn. I like her character & I like the relationship Karen and Derrick have. Ivy is good as Marilyn, too, but eh. Her character is so desperate.

I was really glad Karen got the part. Ivy would have been good, but I think Karen deserved it. I keep going back and forth on how I feel about Ivy. Some episodes I love her and then next week I think she is a bitch.

So happy about Ellis being fired! Such an arrogant, slimy character.

SO glad I wasn't the only one who cried during that last song. I thought something was wrong with me!

I'm glad Ellis finally showed his true colors. "I'm a producer." LMAO, really?! Yeah, bye.

I'm 50/50 on Karen being Marilyn. I think my biggest issue is that she doesn't have Marilyn's curves. But it's so obvious for Ivy to have the part because she slept with Derek. (even though that really happens. Probably because of that, actually) It's just easier to root for the underdog I guess.

I loved that they had the girls in the background showing different parts of Marilyn's life, and her saying "remember me" got me going big time. Ugh...so sad. It was beautifully done.
