- I'm indifferent to Castiel's return

- Re-watching the series has made me appreciate Sam and Dean more (great characters)

- Roomie and I just watched "The Song Remains the Same", and I think it might be my favorite episode of Supernatural ever   

In that one episode we get:

• Lots of young!John and young!Mary = My favorite Supernatural couple
  
• Mohn
• Sam gets to meet Mary for the first time, and I think Jared killed his scenes
• We get to hear what young!John thinks about old!John's actions - a great piece of writing and an in-depth look at how much that character transitioned
• Sam gets to tell John that he forgives him/loves him, and it's bittersweet because John doesn't realize who Sam is (again, Jared killed it )
• Dean tells Mary (for the 2nd time) not to go into Sam's nursery

The writers hit a home run with that episode

- I cried (again) when Dean's 1st heaven moment was him with young!Sam, shooting off fireworks

- I love Bobby

Like I said before I went on my "The Song Remains the Same" bender, I'm indifferent to Castiel's return. I'm not upset that he's coming back, and I'm not jumping for joy.

I like Misha, and there were times (e.g. season 4/5) that I thought Cas was a valuable addition to the show. However, I sometimes feel like that character has reached its expiration date.

I don't want to rain on anybody's parade though, because I'd be -ing it up if they were bringing back one of my favorite characters.

So, to all the Cas lovers: I hope it's a good storyline. The writers have only given us a few duds over the years (imo), so the odds are in your favor.

Do you think they'll ever revisit the whole Adam situation?

I mentioned him in another thread while discussing Lucifer/Sam because it was said on the show how Sam's soul was stuck in a cage with Lucifer and Michael, which is one of the reasons why it was so horrendous. I feel like no one realizes this! All the focus is on Lucifer...

I know that angels aren't, well, angels, but I think having Michael torture Sam along with Lucifer was out of character (based on the brief glimpse we got of Michael, anyway). I guess they had to make him torture Sam because otherwise Michael would've whipped Lucifer's ass in the cage, but still. (They also wouldn't have been able to do the whole, "Sam's so messed up from hell" bit, I guess.) Then again, Sam did force Michael into hell so, I don't know.

I always figured Castiel left Michael in the cage on purpose, because he was ruling Heaven before he got thrown in the pit, and I guess he thinks Michael would want them all dead for messing up his "Kill Lucifer" plan. Wait . . . why was I thinking that Death pulled Sam from Hell, not Cas? I don't remember much from season 6.

I know Michael wasn't Adam but the last we saw of his vessel that's all he was --- a vessel. He had died already by the time the boys even got to him because of that monster. Actually, I may have just answered the question: Adam wasn't really Adam when we saw him on the show --- ever. So what's the point of reintroducing someone who was gone before we even knew him?

That's not entirely true. When the boys initially met Adam he wasn't Adam. He was a ghoul who was masquerading as Adam so that he could kill Sam and Dean. After they killed the ghouls they found Adam's real body and salted/burnt it.

Later in season 5, when Dean kept refusing Michael's request to use him as his vessel, Zachariah resurrected Adam (the real Adam) to use as bait. He told Adam that if he said yes to Michael he'd get to see his mom again. Castiel intercepted while Adam was rising from his grave, and he took him to Bobby's house. They held Adam captive while they tried to convince him that the angels were bad news, etc. That was the first time they met the real Adam, and they told him they were his brothers.

Adam ended up agreeing to Zachariah's request/bait scheme after all, and Zachariah snatched him from Bobby's house. They put him in that angel waiting room, and then Zachariah told him he was just bait. The angels wanted Dean and his brothers in the same place, so that they could use Sam and Adam as leverage. Zachariah started making Sam/Adam hemorrhage, and Dean "agreed" to Michael's proposal. Then he killed Zachariah and tried to get Sam/Adam out before Michael showed up to collect. He got Sam out, but Adam got stuck in the waiting room and when Dean finally got back inside, Adam was gone.

So my point is, Adam was really Adam when we saw him on the show after he was resurrected from the dead by the angels. That wasn't a ghoul.
