He wasn't thinking that he could be the "brand", he didn't want to present. I don't think he should've been fired. I can see why Adam was fired, because he said he should be and, well, that always gets you fired. If the guys lose the next one, maybe Lou will go home next.

The girls knew nothing about the car other than it having 10 air bags. If Buick wants Andretti to brand it's product in the real world they are going to have to pay for it.

Posts: 51876 03/12/2012 1:14 PM Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I was surprised they fired Michael. I thought that was pretty crappy. He knew his strength was knowing cars, but not in the presentation/execution of the type of task they were presented with. You could clearly tell he had zero stage prosiness when he was up there. I felt bad for him, because it was so uncomfortable. Though, not nearly as uncomfortable as the silence that followed the "YOU SUCK" heckling. Overall, I guess Michael could have taken the lead, but still had someone else to the big presentation. Either way, the women should have lost.

Apparently the executives were so upset that Michael wasn't the pitch man for the car that nothing else the men did mattered. Michael drives for Chevy so his situation was uncomfortable and it wasn't really appropriate for him to lead the task and he certainly wasn't going to be a spokesman for a different company other than the one he drives for. Audry is entertaining because she's so intimidated by Debbie that she can't stop thinking about it. No one knows who she is and they always want Debbie to sing and not her waah. Then there's her hair. . .

I thought the men surely had it as soon as Aubrey messed up the name of the car and they kind of bombed the question and answer. The guys skit was a little... I liked it once I saw it (thought it sounded out of place on paper) but there were awkward moments as well to even the score between the two. I actually think it just came down to those Buick guys 1. being upset about the lack of Michael Andretti which is understandable (although personally I know exactly why they didn't have him as the project manager, I think being car people and fans of the guy they were just stuck on the lack of utilizing his name), and 2. being men; men like attractive women, I could see why they'd go for the women's team just because of that little edge (women are used to model vehicles and sell them all the time because of this). So all in all Debbie got extremely lucky. If the guys had just used Andretti as project manager --- even if they did the exact same thing --- I bet they would have won.

Penn also calls in for a few minutes. Adam gives a lot of insight into how they edited the episode to try to make a story for why the men's team lost. He talks about a producer telling them to do a Steve Job type presentation. Talks about how they made a point to show the one fart joke he told. Talks about how they made that "You Suck" bit look really awkward through editing when it wasn't awkward at all. Talks about how they included his "Tiger Woods joke" with sound effects to make it seem like he was a buffoon. Talks about how they edited in stuff in the Board Room from Ivanka that was clearly taped later. Said he felt that Trump wanted Andretti's name attached to Buick which is why he pushed for him. Says he was done with the show and they should have won. It's worth listening to.
