I don't doubt for a second that there are beautiful areas and possibly even a safe spot or two. For now. But that's just playing Russian Roulette with your life. I would rather err on the side of caution and hope they can get this under control.

I went to Aruba in October, ventured away from my hotel, and honestly never once felt uneasy. The natives are so wonderful, other tourists are enjoying the sun and sand as much as you are... almost every one I mentioned I was going away to warned me to be careful. One highly publicized blonde-haired white girl and another girl in which the main suspect in her case was her boyfriend/husband/person, yeah, I really feel like I'm in danger :eyeroll Most wonderful vacation ever and I can't wait to go back. Mexico though, hell to the naw. One of my friends went there about three years ago with her boyfriend and they loved it so much she's been seriously talking about going back this year. I might have to throw some of these articles her way.

Posts: 2027 03/08/2012 5:35 PM Your future's whatever you make it	I've been living in Mexico for over 10 years now, it's really beautiful and its culture's amazing. It's a shame what's going on right now but at what point someone had to do it, i know Mr Calderon's being criticized for his decision but i admire his balls to take front to these cartels.

If you do that stuff in NYC, you're liable to get mugged. The tourists who were robbed in Puerto Vallarta were on an excursion. If you don't like excursions and don't want to go any, it's not tripping up or not being able to relax on your own vacation to avoid them.
