How do you manage your receipts?

Posts: 1263 03/01/2012 11:27 PM	I have a ton of them. I need to get rid of this paper mess. I've seen some of the scanners but figure that might be even more work for me to do. Do you just throw yours out? I've saved them for about a year now and it has been useful sometimes for rebates that I don't realize I can qualify for as well as my flex spending reimbursement.

Posts: 15864 03/02/2012 3:47 AM	Expenses such as gas and groceries, I hold onto until I see them on my online bank statement, then get rid of them. Large expenses such as furniture and appliances, I hold onto them in a binder, for warranties and such. Bills, large rebates, and contracts, I keep and they go into a binder, with sheet protectors and paper clips so I can keep track of everything and find it quickly.
