I think that more than anything, he wants his kids to be able to have a normal life--the childhood that he never got to have. Despite the fact that she herself is famous like whoa, Diana Ross' children haven't ever really been thrusted into the limelight whereas Michael probably couldn't guarantee that his children wouldn't be if they were left with members of his family. Maybe Janet doesn't want kids or has her own issues. She sure hasn't had any kids herself yet. As for his other siblings, he might have felt they couldn't be trusted.

Diana may be old, but her kids seem to have turned out alright, and Michael trusted her.

I find it really weird that MJ wouldn't think of someone younger as a potential guardian for those kids. Seriously, his mom is about 80, and Diana Ross is in her late 60's.

Oops I didn't see that. Do we have a proven source? I can't imagine him skipping all of his brothers and sisters to give them to Diana Ross.

How could she fight for the kids? The Will states that if his mother is not living or does not/can not provide for them then Diana gets them. She has no way to fight it seeing that Katherine WANTS the kids.
