And you know what is f-ed up I work in pharmaceuticals and we mail order to different nursing homes. Every single patient it seems have a prescription for both 650mg of tylenol w/ an added precription of either Vicodin 5/500 or Percocet 5/325 or just all three. They prescribe it to these patients like candy.

If this is true maybe these dumb doctors won't have to worry about taking a lipid/liver panel every so often with a prescription for Lipitor/Zocor/Crestor crammed down their...

People just need to educate themselves and know what kind of medication they're putting in their bodies. I read and re-read labels on med bottles just to make sure I'm not OD'ing myself.

Percocet and vicodin and lortab are COMBINATION medications. Percocet is a brand name that is oxycodone and tylenol mixed together. The FDA isn't pulling oxycodone, they just want to pull the COMBINATION med (percocet) off the market. Oxycodone will still be available.

Percocet never did anything for me. I don't think it even killed pain very much. It just made me sleepy. But then again, I apparently have a high tolerance for just about any pain killer, too.

As long as you stay within the recommended dose and don't take additional tylenol, it's fine. Hydrocodone and oxycodone aren't the problem. It's the amount of tylenol added to the narcotic. And the fact that people will take 12 pills and then pop a few tylenol.
