This is a bridge near my house, I'm not scared of driving over it, but I quite often have to ride a horse over it. That terrifies me, depending on the water levels its betwee 100 & 120 feet straight down into a very rocky gorge.

I've been through the Chesapeake Bay tunnel, and it TERRIFIED me. It basically combined my fear of tunnels and my fear of deep water into some kind of Tunnel of Terror. I tried to hold my breath the whole time.

Even scarier than bridges are those mountain roads that DROP OFF 1000 FEET with NO GUARD RAIL...It took my family 4 hrs to go like 20 miles once because we had to go so slow. *shudders* I later saw that road on...

I don't understand why everyone is scared of the bridges over water. Your chances of surviving a fall to water are a lot higher than the chances of you hitting straight concrete and oncoming traffic.

Brent Spence Bridge in Cincinnati, OH. I have been on this bridge so many times (we always took I-75 to Atlanta) and it didn't scare me. However, I don't remember going through the bottom deck of the bridge.

Apparently, it is not safe.

Are you from the DFW area? I HATE the huge ones that you have to take at 635 and 75...those are the highest I've ever been on.

I'm scared to death of heights and if someone rear-ended me my life would be over, so yes I don't like them either. I even have dreams about it all the time. Those TX pics don't even show how high they really are, you'd have to get a shot from the one at the top looking down to...

I hate the Bay Bridge. And I always had to drive to the shore and everyone in the car would be playing around and I was secretly having a heart attack when crossing that bridge.

I live in Texas and our highways have some huge bridges up to 120 ft high on the intersections where highways meet. Call me a puss but I refuse to drive over the ones that are extremely high and will detour if I'm able to. Does anyone else have a fear of driving over high intersections on the interstate? Texas has some of the highest I've ever seen, especially in the DFW area.
