I was meaning more towards his obvious attitude that he is young and fed up being saddled with alll the kids. Thats my impresssion.

this is sad sad sad. I am working in masters in marriage and family therapy- so for me to hear about this just breaks my heart. I know we can't possibly know the truth about what went on and the private discussions had but it doesn't sound like they did any therapy or anything. have a marriage and kids is hard enough but they have a marriage, 8 kids, and a popular TV show- what makes them think that handling problems on their own is what is best?!

That's exactly what was part of the problem in the marriage. Kate HAD to be responsible and "bossy". She had to be the "grown-up". Jon certainly wasn't going to be one.

That makes no sense that she filed in Montgomery County when they live in Berks. There was also a story that she filed in Bucks, but that obviously wasn't true.

I have never watched this show except for last night. Although I will say this, from what I understand, Kate was rather bossy and condescending and the quickest way to get a man to check out of a relationship and to stop listening to you altogether....is to emasculate him.

In my experience, emasculating a man is on the same level as cheating is to a woman. And it is 10 times worse when you do it in front of others.

I feel bad for both. They both seem tired and empty and...

I think he must have admitted he cheated or said he is in love with another woman and she went and filed.

It's obviously the guy wants to be single and have fun. He woudn't have kept repeating his age.

It wasn't on the show. After the episode aired Jon and Kate released separate statements, and Kate's mentioned that after events this weekend, she felt she had no choice but to file and protect herself and the children.
