Maybe take a ride to the beach (is the Jersey Shore far?) and get seashells, jars of sand, etc. You could go to the fishing docks and ask if anyone has an old net or bouys - maybe even a tackle shop. Maybe you could call Sea Word and tell them what you're doing and see if they have some sort of packets or posters to send you. I would call a lot of aquariums actually.
