I love children. Though raising and caring for them 24/7 would be a whole nother story.

That being said they wouldn't be the problem, that would be myself.

I am a highly sensitive person, I'm scared of life as it is. What kind of children would I be raising? Just the thought of being responsible for another life worries me and I don't even have a bf or anywhere near marriage lol.

My mother goes into shock when I tell her that having a family of my own...

Darwin's theory of evolution defines the "success" of an animal/species by their reproductive output. As mammlian species, we're genetically programmed to want to reproduce, no matter how much you argue about choice or humans being higher life forms. So there is nothing weird about wanting to leave a "legacy"... once you are dead and gone, your children, grandchildren, and so on will be the evidence of your existence. And that's why I plan on having children...

The 'you'll regret it' argument can be used both ways.

Some parents regret having their children. (They may very well love their childrem themselves, but hate all the things that go along with parenting.) and wish they had remained childfree.

Some childfree folks regret not having children and wish they had become parents.

Either way, I know of extremely few people who have ZERO regrets in life.

So true bigred. Men and women make babies, as we know. Yet women rag on women for not doing what they're supposed to be doing. If a woman doesn't have a kid by a certain age other women criticize her for not doing her duty. It's okay for a man though.

Like I said, just because a woman is supposed to have babies doesn't mean she should have them even if she doesn't want them. What is it about this that YOU don't get? Have your babies. Have as many as your body will let you have. But let other people make the decision that's best for them. People have other things going on they want to accomplish in additon to or other than pushing out babies.

I also knew from an early age that I didn't want kids, about since age 11. I came to this view from watching how my friends acted with their parents and just bratty kids in general, plus I know I didn't want that 18 year responsibility. I'm 32 now.

I always told my family this and my mother thought I was strange, but my brother and sister both decided to have kids, and their kids are trips. Now, my mother says I had the right idea.

I've been telling her I didn't want them since I was like 10 years old. I'm 23 now and things haven't changed. But the older I get and the older she gets (she's 60), she keeps running off at the mouth about her future grandchildren. Good thing I have an older brother. I think he wants kids but she hasn't been pressuring him as much as she's been pressuring me.
