With the Neti pot, I turn my head to the side with my forehead lower than my chin. I make sure that the nostril that I will put the Neti pot in is directly above the other. I had the same prob when I first started using my pot. But I played with different angles to hold my head and the pot and found one that works. I tilt my head to the side and forward a lil bit with the pot just resting in the nostril.
