I just got a laptop yesterday and want to get it set up for wireless internet. I have Time Warner and I used to have wireless up on a 2nd computer in the
house. I'm still paying for it and still have the wireless adapter and I just wanted to know if I plug in the adapter to the laptop if it will recognize it
or if TWC has to do something to the laptop as well?

When I turn the laptop on, it says a network is located but I'm not sure what I need to do exactly.

Ok, in that case you'll need an AT&T wireless network adapter card -- and you'll probably have to pay AT&T for the service.

If you want to use wireless just in your home, you could probably just buy a stronger wireless router that broadcasts a bit further.

Yea, when I go to the connection icon it brings up my neighbors' networks and my Motorola router on the desktop computer downstairs. It won't stay
connected to the Motorola because its not close enough (at least thats what Time Warner told me). There aren't any other connections that I'm able to
use.

What I'm looking for is the connection or whatever I need to use the laptop anywhere without a problem. I have AT&T for my cell phone, would I be able
to get...

I called Time Warner yesterday and tried to get it but it still isn't connecting right.

Basically I want the wireless internet that I can use anywhere I go with the computer. The one they wanted to set up was one I had to use in close range to the
router on the other computer. I feel stupid because I don't know where to go to get the internet connection that I want and I dunno..no one can seem to
understand what I'm talking about <img...

You have to pay extra for wireless? If it's wireless you shouldn't have to plug anything in. I think if it's a new laptop it should already have
wireless capability, and if it's locating the network on its own just hit.... connect or whatever, when it says that.
